About Us

Insights into our research and our core activities.

At A glance

Adolescent mental health is important for the development of the country and nation. Psychological stress that teens or their parents often don't realize can lead to long-term negative consequences. There are various ways to overcome such a critical problem, which could be avail from the world wide web. Bangladeshi adolescents or teenagers can access psychoeducational materials from this website.

Due to various life stresses such as depressed mood, conflict with parents or due to social skills deficit, teenagers choose various destructive ways and loose the motivation to be productive. Teenagers constitute a significant percentage of our population.

It is from such a feeling that some of us have come together on a platform to make teenagers aware of mental health problems and show them proper ways to adjust in life and can move towards a better future.

For this purpose, this website has been developed through a research-grant of the Biotechnology Research Center of Dhaka University. This website is a digital medium to raise awareness about mental health related issues for the people of Bangladesh.

In the entire world, 1 in 7 people aged 10-19 years are suffering from mental problems (WHO). Depression, anxiety, substance abuse and behavioral problems are more common among adolescents. Importantly, the tendency to commit suicide is very alarming.

If these mental health problems are not addressed during adolescence, it can hamper their future (adult) physical and mental health, making it difficult for them to lead a normal life. They cannot contribute fully to the society. If this continues, their contribution to the national development of the country will be limited.
